Newtown Arts Company – The Laramie Project

Newtown Arts Company – The Laramie Project

The Laramie Project is a powerful documentary-style play by Moisés Kaufman and members of the Tectonic Theater Project. Based on interviews and news reports following the 1998 murder of University of Wyoming student Matthew Shepard, the production explores themes of hate, compassion, community, and social change. The play examines how a community responds to tragedy and encourages reflection on acceptance, diversity, and human dignity. The 2026 production is presented by Newtown Arts Company at the historic Newtown Theatre in Newtown, Pennsylvania.
